Endorsements & Pledges

Take BAC Congress

Take Back Congress is a grassroots reform organization dedicated to restoring accountability, integrity, and trust in the U.S. Congress. The organization supports candidates who commit to meaningful structural reforms, including congressional term limits, overriding Citizens United, a ban on stock trading by members of Congress, a moratorium on lobbying after leaving office, and the establishment of a binding code of judicial ethics for the U.S. Supreme Court. Take Back Congress backs leaders who believe government should work for people, not special interests, and who are willing to challenge a system that too often rewards corruption and insider privilege. Their endorsement reflects confidence in Cyril’s reform-minded leadership, his record of public service grounded in accountability, and his commitment to making Congress ethical, transparent, and responsive to the people it serves.

Congresswoman Kathy Manning

Former NC-06 Congresswoman Kathy Manning was the last Democrat to represent North Carolina’s 6th District, earning a reputation for pragmatic leadership and delivering real results—securing funding to support small businesses, expanding housing and homelessness resources, and strengthening public education. Her tenure reflected a commitment to effective governance and to addressing the everyday needs of families across the district. Her endorsement of Cyril Jefferson underscores the significance of that legacy and signals confidence in his readiness to once again provide Democratic leadership for NC-06. Cyril is running to build on the progress established during her service, restore stability and seriousness to Washington, push back on overreach, and cut through the chaos to focus on what matters most: lowering costs and expanding opportunity for working families across North Carolina’s 6th District.

George C. Simkins Jr. Memorial PAC

The George C. Simkins Jr. Memorial PAC is a longstanding Black political action committee based in Greensboro and Guilford County, named for civil rights leader Dr. George C. Simkins Jr., whose legal fights helped desegregate hospitals and public facilities in North Carolina in the 1950s.

For decades, the Simkins PAC has played a significant role in supporting candidates and civic engagement efforts that advance justice, equity, and opportunity for Black North Carolinians and all communities that have been historically overlooked. Their leadership is rooted in community advocacy, voter education, and grassroots mobilization. In recent election cycles, the Simkins PAC has joined with other Black political action committees to endorse and organize around Democratic candidates at the statewide and local level, engage voters, and drive turnout through voter registration drives, canvassing, and poll transportation efforts.

Their endorsement of Cyril reflects confidence in his commitment to expanding opportunity, strengthening communities, and standing up for equitable representation and accountability in government service.

U.S. Term Limits

U.S. Term Limits is a national, nonpartisan organization advocating for term limits on members of Congress as a way to reduce entrenched career politics and increase accountability to voters. The organization supports candidates who pledge to advance reforms that encourage citizen leadership, limit the influence of special interests, and bring fresh perspectives to Washington. Their endorsement reflects Cyril's commitment to reform-minded leadership and restoring public trust in government.

PAC to the Future

PAC to the Future is the leadership PAC founded by Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi to support Democratic candidates who are committed to effective governance, protecting democratic institutions, and delivering real results for working families. The PAC backs leaders who understand that governing requires experience, coalition-building, and a willingness to stand up for democratic norms, economic opportunity, and equal rights. This endorsement reflects confidence in Cyril's readiness to lead and his focus on service, accountability, and outcomes.

Vote Common Good

Vote Common Good is a national, faith-inspired organization mobilizing voters who believe that compassion, democracy, and the dignity of every person should guide public policy. The organization works across communities and denominations to counter political extremism and support candidates who prioritize the common good over partisan division. Vote Common Good’s endorsement reflects alignment with Cyril Jefferson’s values-driven approach to leadership, respect for democratic institutions, and commitment to policies that uplift families and communities.

Mental Health Now

Mental Health Now is a national, nonpartisan campaign powered by Inseparable that encourages elected officials and candidates to prioritize mental health policy as a core part of their public service. Leaders who sign the Mental Health Now Statement of Support commit to advancing meaningful, people-centered solutions that address the mental health challenges facing Americans today. Signers promise to support policies that increase access to quality mental health care, making care easier to find and afford; strengthen crisis response systems so anyone experiencing a mental health emergency receives compassionate help; expand wellness, prevention, and early intervention services, especially for youth; and build a stronger mental health workforce so more people in all communities can get the care they need. Cyril’s commitment to the Mental Health Now Statement of Support reflects his belief that mental health is fundamental to overall health and that government must act boldly to make quality mental health care accessible, responsive, and equitable for all.

D.C. Statehood Pledge

The D.C. Statehood Pledge represents a commitment to granting Washington, D.C. full statehood and equal representation in Congress for its residents. More than 700,000 Americans living in the District currently lack voting representation in Congress despite paying federal taxes and serving in the military. By signing this pledge, Cyril affirms his support for equal rights, democratic fairness, and ensuring that all Americans have a voice in the decisions that affect their lives.

I See Purple

I See Purple is a bipartisan movement focused on bridging divides and encouraging cooperation across political differences. The organization promotes leaders who reject extremism, listen to diverse perspectives, and focus on practical solutions that improve people’s lives.
