Cyril Jefferson Announces Run for Congress
High Point, NC — Today at 1:30 PM, Cyril Jefferson, Mayor of High Point, laid out a clear and practical vision for the future of North Carolina’s 6th Congressional District, pledging to deliver results—not rhetoric—for working families across the state.
“I am proud to announce that I am running for Congress in the 6th Congressional District. North Carolinians are tired of the noise and the gridlock,” said Jefferson. “They want leaders who listen, who solve problems, and who deliver results. That’s exactly what I’m committed to doing. That’s why I’m running.”
With a track record of real-world leadership, Jefferson unveiled a set of policy priorities aimed at strengthening the economy, enhancing public safety, expanding opportunity, and securing the well-being of North Carolina families—all without raising taxes.
Jefferson plans to revitalize the region by modernizing transportation systems, supporting small businesses, and expanding housing—all while protecting taxpayers. “Economic growth starts with strong infrastructure and vibrant local businesses,” he noted.
To address the growing housing crisis, Jefferson proposes smart incentives and streamlined construction processes that expand housing options and make homeownership more attainable for working families.
Jefferson supports a balanced approach that includes modern policing, expanded mental health resources, and proven youth intervention programs—strategies that have already led to real reductions in crime.
From raising teacher pay to making childcare more affordable, Jefferson’s agenda prioritizes debt-free career pathways and job readiness programs that prepare students and workers for the jobs of the future.
He pledges to protect Medicare and Medicaid, lower prescription drug costs, and address food insecurity as a public health issue—ensuring no family has to choose between medicine and meals.
Jefferson believes in strengthening our borders, fixing the legal immigration system, rebuilding our military readiness, and providing full support to our veterans. “National security and compassion must go hand-in-hand,” he stated.
Jefferson explained, “These are not partisan ideas—they’re practical solutions grounded in what’s best for North Carolina. I’m not running to make a point; I’m running to make a difference.”
Cyril Jefferson is a proven leader, coalition-builder, and advocate for North Carolina families. With deep roots in the community and a focus on results, he is running for Congress to bring practical solutions to Washington and secure a strong future for NC-06.
